This offering is the largest scale design on the market to be made in the memory of our Scottish weavers. This design was found by John Burrows while doing research in an English textile museum archive. Nineteenth century photographs show similar panels used as the sole window covering, sometimes with fancy shaped valances, and as under drapes for curtains with tie-backs. They are handsome hanging straight, and also work well tied back with a piece of ribbon. For bays, use one panel on each side window and a pair in the center. Historic photographs also show panels like our Albertine hung individually on narrow windows. In John's house, Albertine panels make a stylish over-scaled pattern hung to the floor in rooms with low ceilings. They are also perfectly suited for rooms with grand, high ceilings that are common to Victorian houses in North America! Available sizes: 58" x 90" = $152 All sizes are finished with sewn-in rod pockets. Albertine panels are packaged as pairs with left and right panels. Colors (product codes): Fabric Content: 95% cotton/5% polyester *All sizes are approximate, with a 3% allowable variance. |
